Born Lin Li-hui on April 16, 1976, in Taipei, Taiwan, Shu Qi is a highly acclaimed actress and model who has successfully navigated a diverse and impactful career across East Asian and international cinema. She began her film career in Hong Kong's Category III film scene in the mid-1990s but quickly transitioned to mainstream fare, famously stating that she would "put back on all the clothes that [she] had taken off one by one". Her talent soon shone through, earning her a Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1998 and establishing her as an influential star.
