Gilda Texter is an American former actress and a prolific costume designer. Born on November 26, 1946, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she is primarily known to cult film enthusiasts for her brief but memorable appearance as the "Nude Rider" in the 1971 counterculture film Vanishing Point, where she rode a Honda 350 Scrambler motorcycle in the desert. She also had small acting roles in other early 1970s films such as Angels Hard as They Come and The Runaway.
Following her short acting career, Texter transitioned into the costume and wardrobe department, where she established a long and successful career spanning over 40 film and television productions. She has worked on numerous well-known films, including Romancing the Stone (1984), Air America (1990), The Green Mile (1999), and Garfield: The Movie (2004). Texter has largely stayed out of the public eye since her retirement from the film industry.
