Full Biography

Brittany Allen is an acclaimed Canadian multi-disciplinary artist who has made a significant mark on the entertainment industry as an Emmy-winning actress and a film composer. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she developed a passion for the performing arts at a young age, eventually studying at the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the Sheridan Institute's prestigious Music Theatre Performance program.

Allen first gained international recognition for her role as Marissa Chandler on the long-running soap opera All My Children, a performance that earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 2011. Since then, she has showcased her versatility across various genres, notably appearing as the troubled superhero Popclaw in the hit Amazon series The Boys and starring in high-profile projects like Jigsaw and The Prodigy.

In addition to her acting career, Allen has established herself as a talented composer. She notably starred in and scored the critically acclaimed thriller What Keeps You Alive (2018), which was named a New York Times Critic's Pick. Her scoring credits also include episodes of American Horror Stories and the anthology series Two Sentence Horror Stories.

Currently, Allen plays the pivotal role of Laura Moser, Dexter Morgan's biological mother, in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. In this role, she portrays the character in essential flashback sequences that explore the origins of Dexter's traumatic past and his "Dark Passenger".
