Story

Frank Cotton, an indulgent man seeking new sensations, discovers and solves the Lament Configuration, a mysterious puzzle box that summons the Cenobites, other-dimensional beings who traffic in pain and pleasure. Frank's experiment goes awry when the Cenobites resurrect him as a monstrous creature but leave his flesh hanging like tattered skin over his bones. Meanwhile, Larry Cotton moves into his childhood home with his new wife Julia and stepdaughter Kirsty. Frank, now hidden in the house's attic, seduces Julia into providing blood sacrifices to restore his body using her sexual allure. Kirsty discovers Frank's secret and tries to warn others but is dismissed as unstable. The Cenobites, led by Pinhead, eventually reclaim their prize, consuming Frank for good, while Kirsty escapes with her life after promising Pinhead she won't interfere again.

Summary

Hellraiser (1987) is a British-American horror film directed by Clive Barker, based on his novella 'The Hellbound Heart'. The movie follows the gruesome consequences of Frank Cotton's fascination with forbidden sensations, leading him to unlock a mysterious puzzle box that unleashes sadistic beings known as Cenobites. The story unfolds in Larry Cotton's childhood home, where Frank's brother lives with his new family, blissfully unaware of the supernatural horror lurking within their walls. Hellraiser explores themes of hedonism, sexual obsession, and the price paid for indulging in forbidden desires.
