Story
In Manon des sources, after Jean Cadoret's death, his wife returns to her opera singing career and their daughter Manon grows up to be a beautiful shepherdess. Ugolin, now wealthy and bachelor at thirty, falls in love with Manon upon seeing her on the fields. However, his grandfather Cesar insists he marry to carry on their family name. Manon seeks revenge against Ugolin and Cesar, plunging the town into despair.
