Story

In the distant future of the year 40,000, astronaut Barbarella lands on the frozen planet Lythion with the mission to find and stop the evil scientist Durand-Durand in the City of Night, Sogo. Along her journey, she encounters various unusual people and objects such as the Excessive Machine, a device that can drive victims to death through sexual pleasure controlled by an expert artist like Durand-Durand himself. Barbarella also meets a lesbian queen who has the power to make fantasies take form in her Chamber of Dreams and a group of ladies smoking a giant hookah which dispenses Essence of Man through a struggling victim. Throughout her adventure, Barbarella's minimal clothing is frequently torn off, showcasing impressive special effects.
