Story
Aspiring actor Edward undergoes an experimental medical procedure to drastically alter his appearance, aiming for a new 'dream face' that he believes will enhance his acting career. His pursuit of perfection spirals into a dark journey of self-hatred and delusion.
Summary
A Different Man, directed by Aaron Schimberg and set in New York City, is a stylish blend of drama, comedy, and thriller that explores provocative themes around identity and societal beauty standards. With outstanding performances from Sebastian Stan, Adam Pearson, and Renate Reinsve, the film follows Edward, an aspiring actor who undergoes a radical transformation procedure. While the procedure was meant to unlock new doors in his career, it instead unleashes a dark journey of self-absorption and obsession, raising questions about where societal pressures end and personal issues begin.
