She began her career in soft-core films like 'Aphrodite' before moving to Hollywood for her American debut in the film 'Breathless' (1983), where she co-starred with Richard Gere and had an affair with him off-screen. After its poor reception, she returned to France. She was nominated for a César Award for Best Actress for her role in 'La femme publique' (1984) directed by Andrzej Żuławski.

Story
The movie 'Mon ami le traître' begins with Mad Bosco, one of two criminals who joined the German police to escape prison, dying at the start of their adventure. His younger partner, Georges, is left alone in post-war France. Louise, a woman hoping Georges will reform, introduces him to Commander Rove, an officer in counter-espionage.
